Coaches are in demand. People want to invest in themselves – their health and wellness, their business, or whatever it is that will help them reach the next level in life.
There are numerous coaches online, so it’s crucial to ensure that your website stands out and establishes trust. During my research, I observed interesting patterns—some positive, and some negative. While many coaching websites share common mistakes, there are also consistent strategies that can enhance visitor trust. Let’s explore some key elements that can help you in creating a high-converting coaching website.
It sounds simple, but this is one of those obvious things that often gets overlooked. Before even creating a website be sure to know what you do, who you do it for, what your process looks like and what results you promise. And most importantly be specific and detailed.
A lot of coaches have a very wide spectrum of services they provide and problems they work with, so it could be very hard to narrow it down. But you have to be specific, especially when it comes to your specialty. It has to be clear (a life coach, a health coach, a wellness coach) so when people go on your website they know that they’re in the right place.
Be specific on who you work with and what problems you help to solve. Show them what results you’re creating for your clients, your visitors want to know what to expect and be able to identify themselves. “I help transform lives” – sounds promising but lacks details. Tell them what exactly you’re going to transform whether it’s building new habits by changing your mindset, or developing a healthy diet by learning how to listen to your body.
This is pretty obvious, but I couldn’t leave it unmentioned since it’s such a huge part of any high-converting website design. This is how you can actually sell yourself without selling. Include your testimonials everywhere! If you can do it on each page – do it! If you can attach photos of people to give face to your testimonials – do it! If you have video-testimonials, screenshots of client’s reviews, case studies of some success stories – make sure to include it in your website. And of course if you have certifications, licenses and additional proof of your qualifications, have it on your homepage. Show people how good you are before they click away.
And of course, if you don’t have much social proof yet it’s okay. There is another great way to show your expertise: blog.
You need to share free knowledge with people.
It’s a great chance to build authority in your field and give them a reason to trust you. That’s a great way to create relationships with your clients by letting them get to know you better. Try to help people with your content so they see value in what you do. Help them realize why they need YOU to make their lives better. It’s a great way to help your audience and also sell your services in a non-salesy way.
I know sometimes it’s awkward to put too many CTA’s throughout your website because you don’t want to seem pushy. I get it, but…. Every single page of your website should lead your visitors somewhere. If you don’t remind your visitors what they need to do (which is get your services or learn more, or download a pdf or buy a product), they will leave your website soon enough and will forget about its existence. Don’t let them wander around your website, guide them in the needed direction.
I hate to break this to you, but investing in good professional photos is a must.
Showing the face behind your business is very important in the coaching space. People want to know who they will be working with.
You have a chance to build connections with your prospects before even meeting them in person. Show your personality, show your office, showcase photos of your work process, or anything else through which people can see you in action. Give them a better picture of what it’s like to work with you.
As you may understand, no stock photos can compete. Professional photos are a great way to build trust. And in the coaching business, as well as any other type of business, trust goes a long way.
If you’re not sure what photos you need for your website, talk to your Website Designer. You want to make sure that your photos match your brand and website style. Well-planned photos will create a more cohesive look throughout your website, as well as consistency in your brand.
Building trust is an important factor if you want to increase your website conversion. Social proofs, blogs and professional pictures play a big part in this. If you want to stand out and connect with your audience on a deeper level, don’t be afraid to show your true self. What’s the real reason you decided to start your business? How do you want to serve people? How do you want to help? People want genuine connections. And if you open yourself up, your audience will feel it and will want to work with you.
